Although it’s widely believed that fans profoundly altered their relationship with baseball once its players began making inconceivably significant salaries with the advent of free service, I argue that it was, in reality, a work stoppage five decades later truly caused a long-lasting resentment of lovers involving the players and team owners, because a strike of the size directly affected the enthusiasts ‘ ability to enjoy the national pastime.
